China's Sichuan Province. Exploring Eastern Tibet.
Dates: No dates available at this time.
PaintedRoad’s LabRat Runs are annual events where adventurous riders with a sense of adventure are invited to join a first time tour in an exotic far flung destination. As a first tour the unexpected should be expected, and accepted, hence a keen sense of humour is a valuable asset. The sense of humour though is not only for when things don’t go quite to plan, LabRats are a great fun group to travel with, always as quick with a laugh as they are for an adventure, and a post ride beer.
With LabRat Runs being prototypes, if we are unsure whether or not to include something, be it a day’s ride, a rest day venue, a restaurant, a bar, or a place to sleep, we generally throw it into the mix, just to see how it works. So as a LabRat you get to try it all, be it an extra rest day, an unexpected mountain, or one more day on a tropical beach.
2018 - Sichuan - Kham Tibet.
Following on the tremendous success of last year's LabRat Run which explored the wonderful wilderness of the Mongolian Steppe, David and Echo would like to invite adventurous riders to join them this year in China's high Tibetan landscape of Kham, in Sichuan Province. With passes as high as 4600 metres, Tibetan culture and architecture, yaks and eagles, roads of perfect bitumen, gravel, and rock, and long long climbs and downhills that that go on for an hour we have an epic adventure in the making. We are unsure of where to have the restudy, so ever thrown a couple in just to see how things work out.
